Understanding Pelvic Pain
Pelvic pain refers to discomfort or pain felt in the lower abdomen or pelvic area, below the belly button and between the hips. It can be:
-
Acute (sudden and short-term)
-
Chronic (lasting for six months or longer)
-
Intermittent (comes and goes)
Some women describe it as a dull ache, others as sharp or stabbing pain. It may occur during physical activity, intercourse, urination, bowel movements, or even while resting.
